Nobody is blaming him for having a disability, its because he's violent.

By your logic we mine as well let disabled people commit crimes with no repercussions because "its not their fault they were born that way"

No, he’s obviously severely autistic, he should have an additional staff member with him 100% of the time.. It’s the schools fault when he is in their care.

I like the idea but its not realistic. School resources are already stretched thin.

Listen, I have nothing against the kid and I hope he does get a reduced sentence because he's autistic but he still severely injured a teacher over something as minor as taking a videogame away.

It's not the school's responsibility to contain violent people, it's the police & prison system.

I personally know families who’s children go to my kids elementary, they have a caretaker with them 100% of the time because he is prone to violent outbursts, and the staff is 100% responsible for his actions as he is under their care during school hours.

This is WA, not sure how these other states run shit, but if it’s any different than how it runs here in WA then that’s just wrong imo.

Florida forced the mother to send him to public school instead of home schooling him, the teacher ignored his IEP in place to prevent incidents like this, and then behaved in a way that would absolutely trigger an outburst in a severely autistic traumatized child.

Dunno what they expected out of all this.

This.

Also, what is with the slow as molasses response by some of the people in the original video of the incident?

Well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences to his own actions.

He's not in elementary school. We need to decide whether he ever has the faculties to be treated as an adult. If not, he should be forcibly committed as a ward of the state. If yes, he will have to face the repercussions of his actions.
