For sure, i just find it funny when people ask "cant muslims and jews in the middle east live in peace?" when in reality the best model we have for that is Israel itself.

as it turns out when you have a higher standard of living, quality living conditions, good healthcare, and more general equality, people tend to get along.

when you live in an autocratic hellhole with a very simplistic economic throughput centered around Oil, the govt scapegoats the jewish neighbors so the people wont realize they're living under a thumb.

Very true, Israel has done exceptionally better than probably any other country in the world when it comes to that

bit hard when many other countries in the region are literally monarchies. being at the whims of a bloodline makes it hard for pendulums to swing.

i grew up thinking it was absurd canada had UK monarchy on their money, but having an actual monarch with power is unreal. so many centuries of maintaining a monopoly on violence to maintain that. one of the few things i agree with Islamic terrorist groups on. when they enter a monarch's country they try to in short order kill that monarch.
