the most surprising part of your story is that you actually found some sucker to marry you, the least surprising part is that a Barbie movie traumatized your sensitive lil snowflake mind. poor guy
My wife is a young, beautiful lefty girl power feminist. When I met her she was the stereotypical blue haired lefty, but actually good looking. The kind of woman who you ogle over but would snap your heart like a twig. Unfortunately for you, deep down most women are attracted to masculine, traditional men.

Well, everyone perceives content differently. I understood it as the type of all female matriarchy feminists wish is a blatant copy of the patriarchy they hate so much. They ignored the needs of Kens and Kens were only seeking attention without any rights or property. It was a mocking of feminism ideology. Then in real world, apparently, patriarchy was a thing, so Ken wanted to join the club but getting a job as a man wasn't easy at all  He basically failed his mission to get a job and integrate himself in the real world. Then he went back to the Barbie land with his version of "the patriarchy". In the end, Kens were slowly granted rights just like men gradually granted them to women at first (historically), a change was induced. In the end, Barbie chose to exit the perfect feminist world bubble to face reality in real world. She also apologized to Ken for ignoring his needs and told him to work on himself and become himself instead of simping as his whole reason of existence.
They did throw in some small things for the men. Like you said he realized he still had to work towards building a career and bla bla bla. As horribly written as the movie was, the only up side to it was how happy the women were being with the men.
