To add a thought about China as well: China has not been a socialist (or communist) state since the Deng reforms of 1978 - the CCP is communist in name only.

Mao's socialist state was a complete and total disaster, and Deng fixed it

I'm not knocking anyone for being gay since we are all sinners including myself, however I criticize them censoring very important information just because it hurts their ego

That is true. The CCP is in name only and being used to keep the current party in absolute power.

It's a common misconception because the word gets thrown around too much - alot of people think that socialism just means having a welfare state or having taxes pay for public services. Which is really just what any legitimate country does
