I don't mean to suggest that it is a benign topic, but rather the preoccupation that some people have on all things trans-related is a bit bizarre to me.

Anyone who insults the religion of LGBT is actually a closet "whatever they insulted"

Lol fuck can you guys please come up with someone new

It's a real discourse that happens, but it is overwhelmingly online. Tends to be true of nearly all trans-related discourse, reflected here in PaRD, where we have a number of posters preoccupied with all things trans despite it not intersecting with their real lives in a meaningful way.

When things happen in real life, and are discussed online, they still happened.

These "culture war" hot button issues always stem from a crackpot left-wing activist group seeking obligatory changes to the English language.

People find it both ridiculous and offensive. When these activist groups stop, people will stop caring. If a woman wants to refer to herself as a "birthing person", she's welcome to do it.

100% accurate, and still im concerned even though "its only online" applies to a lot of "problems", because we're transitioning to a mostly online life. in the early 2000s someone who was terminally online was a mentally sick kid addicted to WoW. now it can be a normal person, works online, plays games online, never leaves home unless for a grocery pickup (delivery coming soon if not here already), orders food in, etc. Not the crazy recluse it once was. I dont mean to suggest the OP issue is a real issue inherently, just that online life is blurring into life. i think the days are numbered when we can view "its just online" as an easy deflection of seriousness like it was for a long time.

Again, I'm not saying that it's "not serious", but that there are a number of people extremely preoccupied by this issue who otherwise would never experience an intersection of it in the real world.

I'm not talking about people who simply have an opinion on this topic, but the people (such as the people in PaRD) whose last 10 threads in PaRD have all been trans-related.

100%. trans topics are wildly overcovered. both pro and anti. the reality is we need to spend a little time as a society preserving basic rights for trans people, and spend a lot of time preserving basic rights for all people. and in the mean time focus less on typifying cases of all kinds, they're just sown seeds of division.

The people you are talking about are reacting to "trans issues" being shoved in their face constantly for years when it shouldn't have been for the exact reason you stated.

It isn't the fault of trans activists or trans people that the issue has become as prevalent as it is, it is the fault of the media and politicians using it as a wedge issue for their own benefit. The problem is none of your ilk said anything about it as long as it benefited you or your ideology in the short term. What you are seeing is the long term ramifications of forcing this issue, and it will only get worse from here.

What do you think happens when it is no longer politically or financially convenient to support trans issues?

Lol if it's just words why do they bother you so much?

See how that works? Probably not, you don't seem very perceptive.

I think you've gotten a bit swept up into the wedge issue of it all, given your reference to "you and your ilk" as though we've any idea who the other is.
