they weren't made slaves due to skin colour, they were made slaves because they were viewed as uncivilized savages who they could exploit for labour.

Slave comes from slav who are white as snow (who were enslaved by many different peoples). Slavery has never been about skin colour

what is the other opinion? that black people are inherently violent and criminals due to their biology? that would undercut the former point you made about skin color not mattering, and only actions mattering.

elsewise we're left with "rap music makes them criminals", as if black neighborhoods were a peaceful utopia before NWA said fuck tha police.

if there were 2 large groups of uncivilized savages available to 1600s Europeans, one white and one black, the blacks would have been chosen so they were more easily identifiable. also black skin made them perfect candidates for working in plantations in the south and Caribbean under the hot sun, because the native population predisposed to that was mostly wiped out by that point from disease.

if the biology argument is true it would not undercut the point about skin color not mattering if the factors in biology that caused said things were not related to skin color directly

Possibly, but the real reason they were chosen is due to the naval age of discovery. They could easily acquire the slaves from African coastlines (who were sold to them by their OWN black King's who enslaved their own people)

It was much more difficult to acquire slaves inland. the Age of Discovery was thassalocratic Empires and coastal slaves were just convenient. If there were white people on foreign coastlines they would have taken them as slaves too

we spent hundreds of years trying and failing to prove that IF. spend as much time as you'd like tho.



white slaves in the Caribbean were so useless that plantation work was used as a prison that many died in. i dont need a history lesson on slavery, its been a recurring topic in PARD for a dozen years. black people still made the ideal slaves for the early americas and became an industry for that reason that extended their use here compared to Europe.

That makes sense, but in that sense they were not chosen because of the colour of their skin but by their utilitarian physical parameters & ability to work in the heat (which are correlated with their skin colour)
