How is claiming he would have done it better a lie? Just an assumption that he couldn't have done it better?
Trump himself noted that he couldn't get the generals to agree to his plan. why? because the time table and the plan don't line up. it would have taken a long time to clear the country of all of our equipment. we spent 2 decades rebuilding the country, the entire country is littered with our shit. he brags about how he wanted them to take literally everything.
the mistake was leaving key items, those should have been prioritized, and my guess is that would have been trump's plan. to get planes and tanks out then leave the rest. meaning biden's real crime isn't that he left stuff, it's that he left just a bit more than Trump would have.
but the issue with the withdrawal wasn't equipment IMO it was personnel that we didn't secure and the timing of civilians and military. Trump's dead right on that aspect, and im not even sure if the Biden whitehouse realized it was happening when it was going down. pretty disastrous in the longrun, as we're talking about a difference of a few days to get the personnel aspects correct. rather than a year to get the equipment part right.
overall both are caused by the same thing, how fast the govt we installed bowed down to ISIS. we left some equipment to give them a fighting chance, and that's why the equipment part bothers me less (even tho they didnt need $100m planes). but we depended on them holding at least the capital region long enough for us to get all of our people out, and they folded like a wet napkin. we should have armed the Afghan women, not their spineless heroin addicted men, the women had something to fight to the death for. the men could just join ISIS with no consequences if they laid their arms down.
