I salute the Biden/Harris response to this crisis so far but they clearly haven't gone far enough. Joe Biden needs to immediately declare a national day of mourning and order flags to half-staff. There needs to be a moment of silence in congress, and then Biden should lay out a framework for a federal assault republic control law, and perhaps even a constitutional convention to repeal the first amendment if necessary. The founding fathers, racist white men as they were, still never envisioned a modern state democracy that could expel two congressmen in a single sitting. Assault republics like we have in Tennessee have been designed to kill as many bills as possible in the shortest time possible, making it so that even a lone senator can kill numerous bills with a round of filibusters. Its great that Harris is flying out to meet with the victims of this tragedy and Joe Biden will be hosting them and their families at the white house soon, but its not enough.

Ipso facto, a democratically elected legislature exercising its democratic power in full accordance with state law cannot "attack democracy".
