It’s not double, it’s about 1.20 for a gallon I think. Gallon milk where I live is 4.25, you pay what ?

I pay around 4$ a gallon if I go to Hyvee, I pay just shy of 3$ if I go to Cash Saver, which is a store that sells things at cost + 10% mark up at the register.

I pay ~$2.7 per litre in Toronto.

Hoo boy that's a quick way to get me to stop drinking milk.

Thing is, even if we pay a lower price at the store, we pay a higher price through subsidy and healthcare cost.

We subsidize the shit out of our agriculture industry, then they produce and sell products high in fructose.

I'd say our increased medical costs and cost of subsidy greatly outstrips the cost of paying more at the store, but I'd have to pour through the data to back that up.

We also go to Canada to buy pharmaceuticals, because our healthcare industry is bloated. So there's that too. I'd rather be on the end buying groceries than pharmaceuticals.

Get anyone of age to buy?

Where I am in Canada it's 22 bucks for a 6 pack.

Canadians would honestly be dead if we had America liquor pricing.

There is a price hidden in taxation subsidies and perhaps even conversion of Can$ and US$.

But the comparison is somewhat silly for some of the reasons you've just said. Food is highly regulated and subsidized around the world due to results of crisis and starvations in the past. Exporting milk by the masses results in subsidies lost to consumers around the world.
That would be giving money away to other countries, a bad deal.

In a stable co-operative western world, we could actually move forward towards more free market on food, to actually make it cheaper. But we need more soft power for that, being able to rely on allies.

That's very nice to you, but while Obama was in office we had Republicans literally saying that they hoped Obama would fail because he's a Democrat that they don't want to look good.

I also just don't believe you, because everybody has things that they don't want the president to get done. The president failing at something doesn't mean the country is failing. It means he couldn't push his agenda through, which may or may not be good for the country.
