The Canadians aren't a threat, they've just abused a lenient neighbor for far too long. There are unacceptable barriers to free trade, if they want to keep them up, they're free, but the United States should be extracting dollars in return.

No the provincial liberals where demolished. That really has absolutely no bearing on his federal party. Ontario has 33% of the dairy industry. That’s 83% of the industry in the 2 provinces that account for 70% of his seats.
All this is irrelevant anyways because Trudeau is from Quebec and views Quebec as the only part of the country that maters and will do stupid things because of this bias.

Canadians are suckers for economic patriotism, and exceptionally well accustomed to paying more than they should for basic necessities. Embarrassing, to be sure, but not all that surprising.
