That might've not been the perfect example of what i was wondering about. However i do agree that degrees have suffered from inflation. In free market economies with tuition fees, universities and colleges are offering useless degrees while giving the impression that you really need that degree. In countries with free universities, the institutions compete for funding by raising the amount of future graduates that can be cheaply produced in order to direct some money towards their research. Both scenarios contribute to the increase in the number of unemployed academics. The result? Provide subsidized education and regulate the amount of students you take in. Subsidize research.
We used to educate most of our population no higher than 5th grade or so, because that was all you needed to be a functional adult. Times have changed.
For proof, look at Trump's support among the college educated.
