Germany does have their shit together. I loved the country when I lived there. They manage to house their population well. Affordable housing is the main cause of homelessness and it seems like Germany has affordable housing available. The US struggles with this.

I don't know why you're talking about guilt. I'm stating some facts with no feelings attached. No need to bring emotion into this.

And at bold: The roosters have come home to crow. That home? France, Germany, Britain....where the banks that have all their wealth are located, obviously. They already know the language. It must be weird to have never opened a history book though :p

actually housing has become a huge problem in the cities, prices are going through the roof
at the start of the winter semester at universities its quite common for new students to live in a precarious situation for months until they have something that is somewhat affordable
others are just pushed out and way over 1 million illegal migrants that dont want to live in the countryside dont exactly help

but there are only very few homeless people and thats mainly their own fault/choice

what wealth?

i have to go with this, what wealth would that be? these backward places never had any to begin with
exploitation of resources is an issue in places like the congo, but to make that a scapegoat for everything is absolutely ridiculous

we have countries without resources being wealthy, others having lots of them are poor as fuck

every country is only as good as its people and most of africa just cant get anything done to make things better

The resources they were sitting on, the wood from their forests, the people we took as slaves.

We basically took the third world's resources and gave them peanuts in return. That's how the first world was built.

case in point: low-on-resources japan already had a pretty decent standard of living during the middle ages, particularly compared to africa and parts of europe, long before the were intensely trading with their neighbors or even started colonizing and exploiting foreign countries.

All of the resources were worthless without our infrastructure

Who was taking the slaves and selling them? Where did the wealth come from and go?

Depends on the instance. In some cases it was rival tribes selling us slaves. In other cases we were enslaving tribes.

The wealth came from the land, as all wealth does, and it was mined, packaged, and shipped to the first world countries. We effectively made them dig up their own resources and give them to us, similarly to how it's still done in the South African diamond trade.
