if only cnn and msnbc would do such.
it would take a decade just to write the apology

how can the issue of kneelers not include race? it's a racial injustice protest

protest led by kaep - who got a ton of racial injustice from the privileged people. like the privileged ones who adopted him after his biological father split before he was born. that injustice was completely uncalled for by that privileged family who adopted kaep. or the privileged people who gave him a big fat contract before he opted out. the racial injustice of kaep getting paid by privileged people for his labor is literally national-socialist racist facism.

When is the right time and place?

honestly that would be pending his contract, which i have no idea what would look like.

if you were a common man, you have 24 hour access to debate something in america, like we are doing right now.
you cannot access every form of outlet 24 hours a day, but there are always ways to tell people.

oh right. i had to refresh myself on the original reason he took a knee.
to protest america because black people are "oppressed". and then for police brutality, and then for war veterans?
i can't help but feel depressed hearing this shit. my response matters not from here on out, but fuck this guy for kneeling if it's about race in america.

there is a time and a place. during the national anthem, under the employment of people that own and/or frequently use that property, in front of millions of people, is not one of them.

it's not about race for everyone. it's about how he's protesting. for me at least.

This sentence right here exemplifies the divide on the issue. you don't even know what it's about because your head has been filled with ulterior motives.

Kaepernick met with a group of veterans that all agreed that kneeling, rather than sitting on the bench (which he did at first), was respectful of the troops and the flag. Kneeling isn't a universal sign of disrespect, like sitting with your head down is.

Now fast forward and we have people like you, who didn't even know the root cause, disagreeing with veterans about what should and shouldn't offend them and their service to the flag.

this is a depressing level of ignorance. i dont even want to know the number of articles u read talking about how disrespectful it is to troops that u didn't even know weren't the target of the protest. you're probablly also the same type of person who told the rioters in Ferguson to find a peaceful way to protest. you're a hypocrite and tbh from this post i'm convinced you're a moron.

the difference here is that i know his white family(his first cousin and former best friend was in my sisters wedding). and i know how quickly they distanced themselves from him before his protest even started, because he was acting too much like a thug.

So the right time and place are places that don't really cause much of a conversation to happen.

Not exactly productive if your goal is to start or further a conversation and keep it in the mind of people who aren't already following those sources.

I'm not sure if you're understanding me. When he played with the 49ers, before he started the kneeling protest, his family dropped him for being too black.

beyond that i'm not sure why anyone would make the discussion about Kaep's injustice or lacktherof, he's protesting systematic racism.

you are claiming these places of "no influence" are the reason i am influenced into my perspective.
how do they not work then?

i have been staying away from this subject mostly entirely because i don't watch football.
you are all pissed at me because i made a joke about cnn and msnbc. i wasn't denying anything. not the fox story, not trumps remarks being bad. i did question the race issue as to how the subject was forced on me. now i have to defend myself about this bs.

i still don't get it. is it about race or veterans? make up your mind

edit:
honestly it doesn't matter. i'll keep looking through more outlets though

The Take a Knee movement was started by quarterback Colin Kaepernick who knelt before a pre-season game for the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.

Kaepernick had said: “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of colour.

it's about race and giving america the middle finger.
i stand by my previous "ill-informed" response.

‘too much like a thug’ or ‘too black’?
das racist

e: reported, btw

oh also the seahawks used that old systemic racism against minorities when they didnt sign him. no way will they employ a black quarterback on that team!!!

the discussion happened months ago we’re just recycling the same stuff. its more fun this way anyway. had no qualms regarding the protest when it started and feel the same today.

you know how it is nowadays, people fail at something and suddenly they are a wrongfully oppressed minority

surely it has nothing to do with him spreading a false narrative, being an average, way too expensive quarterback, who will bring loads of trouble or him opting out of his contract, which turned out to be an epic fail

fun fact: in german media it was repeatedly reported that kaepernick was fired by the 49ers for his kneeling protest, which is simply fake news
