There is something funny about watching people cry about getting what they voted for
its a tradeoff between the interests of american steel manufacturers and american companies that process steel. I dont know whether the gains on the one side will overcompensate for the losses on the other side. and neither does anyone of you. it's a complicated issue that can be tackled with NEITHER "muh, free trade is always for the best" NOR "herp derp america first".
in any case, it should be obvious that a trade war, like any kind of war, will require sacrifices and (here: economic) casualties.
oh, since we're talking the steel tariffs: has anyone mentioned yet that chinese steel is not just dirt as cheap because of low wages over there, but also as a result of heavy state subsidies?
