Trucks represent 18% of total vehicle sales in the US. They are not the most popular vehicle, you repeating dumb shit that's inaccurate then try to make an argument based on some non truth is precisely why people don't take you seriously on here.

yeah but have you heard of the tariffs on toothpicks and bubblegum? debunked!

Chevys and Subarus made in Japan from 1963 to 1980, Toyotas, Suzuki and Honda all still use assembly plant loopholes, Mercedes and Dodges made in Germany, Ford and Chrysler vans made in Turkey
just to name a few

fenderp/10

so what you're saying is that you can't name a single EU truck model that did this. so much for 'all the manufacturers just circumvent it'...

goo-shill/10

like i said, the 25% tariff effectively eliminated european built competition, so come back if you have an actual point. and even then it's just a fraction of our overall trade, which is not only mostly tariff free, but also rather balanced. i guess facts don't matter when it comes to defending your emperors crazy policies though, that train has long left the station...

If it was anyone other than Fender I'd post the "not sure if stupid or trolling" meme, but we all know the answer.
Maybe I should ask some kraut which country Daimler is from

are you by chance refering to this one:

i bet the closest thing you can come up with to justify your outrageous claim is what mercedes did with their 'sprinter' VAN in the early 2000s.

that's still not a single example of a european built truck that circumvents the tariff. seriously, after claiming that 'ALL MANUFACTURERS' do it, you couldn't even name a SINGLE model and still act like you had an actual point here? holy shit, that's weak...

what like the fiat doblo, ford transit connect and yes, the sprinter?
heck they still import the transit vans even after customs closed their loophole.

And that's just EU. The japanese have been doing it for longer.

guess i gotta give yo even more time to come up with the model of a single EU manufactured TRUCK that does that. i mean, you have to look no further than the sales numbers in that segment and where they are manufactured, but i just love to see you struggling after making such a statement. keep googling though, maybe you find one some day and then tell yourself that totally justifies your 'all manufacturers circumvent the tariff like that' talking point, even though it's blatantly wrong and outright ridiculous.

again, even IF it was true, which it demonstrably isn't, it would still just be a fraction of our overall trade, which is not only mostly tariff free, but also rather balanced. i guess facts don't matter when it comes to defending your emperor's idiotic and detrimental (according to the overwhelming majority of experts on BOTH sides btw, but issues like his climate change denial perfectly illustrate that facts, science, and expert knowledge rarely get in the way of his bigoted little mind) policies though...
