A ground war would be absolutely devastating for America. They should win but it would take years upon years. The North Koreans are more than prepared. The only option for a swift(ish) victory would be 'bombing the shit out of them' as the PotUS so elegantly put it. Which means mass slaughter of civilians. The international outcry at that tactic would be pretty devastating for America too. If they managed to liberate the labour camps then maybe they could swing the propaganda war in their favour with some WW2 nostalgic type sympathy.

The moral choice is of course a ground war. But that's expensive as fuck in terms of lives of US soldiers.
