likability is a deciding factor for every candidate lol what kinda bullshit is this. people liked obama better than mccain and romney. people not liking clinton or harris cannot be directly attributable to gender. both obamas do not like hillary clinton. you gonna say its due to hillary’s gender???

it isnt “they have to be likable” its “they have to be more likable than their opponent”. this isnt complex

reich-wingers loved palin and lefties hated her, as did her running mate. so be it. most lefties don’t like pence due to his religion and that he’s some mild-mannered midwestern american. that’s their call.

some of the most liked people in history were abrasive. so are a lot of innovative individuals and successful people. you don’t work for a living though so you wouldn’t know.

But it's true. Women are supposed to be caring, nurturing, motherly, etc. Men are warriors and are simply held to different standard.

Kamala doesn't even have her own kids. Of course people aren't going to like her.

that’s your/people’s own decision to dislike her based on ‘supposed’ characteristics. (not yours but you know what i mean)

people can dislike whoever they want and besides which gender is a spectrum now.

for instance one can say they dislike kamala due to her locking up thousands of black males for the ‘crime’ of smoking weed after their shift, when kamala bragged about smoking hindu kush and listening to tupac after her shift at the assistant DA’s office. one can say they dont like kamala cuz she withheld evidence that would exonerate suspects to protect her conviction % record, etc.

no one likes a crooked cop. kamala chose to be a crooked cop that’s her choice. gender or race or whatever has nothing to do with that.

Ghot, EndlessSky, and Goomshill do. I agree that not liking Kamala based on her record is totally legit. The issue is that most Americans are grossly uninformed and will base their vote on personality, gender, religion, and race. In Kamala's case, I think her personality appears more abrasive because of gender expectations.

Ted Cruz and Donald Trump fought over the same population of voters. Kasich was the polar opposite. It's not an accident that Pence was chosen as VP.

There are different expectations for men and women. Not necessarily bad, as there are perks and drawbacks to both, but different. And yet this goes beyond sex, if we learned that Donald Trump had had sex with 10 random women, hardly anyone would care. If Pence was accused of having sex with one woman who was not his wife, it would be earth-shattering to his political image and reputation. Women have a better public image when it comes to things like trust, honesty, and integrity, and it takes a much harder hit when they prove the public wrong.

If Kamala and Clinton were politically bright, they would grasp this intuitively and use it to their advantage. Kamala was shoe-horned into the majors and was incapable of handling the national stage. She's been too many different versions of Kamala to too many different people in an age where all of this is recorded. People do not like being fooled, and Kamala is a bad liar.

okay fine let’s say this is true; they do because the existence of a crooked cop helps the political outcome they desire. not some inherent desire for crooked cops.

kamala is actually savvy imo, and i dont find her particularly abrasive at all. the kavanaugh hearings showed that shes just another swamp demon who started wading into the swamp in her early 20s. which again okay fine but its not a qualification either. i dont know what ‘America expects of women’ but maybe being a relatively young buck means im more progressive on these fronts

what really was odd was her dismissal of the man who helped fast-track career. normally i’d be complimentary to someone who looked out for me but i guess that’s the “old way”

She absolutely is a swamp demon and I've never supported her. She has admitted that she doesn't really have firm principles outside of getting in the weeds and helping people. However, her understanding of policy is simply inadequate IMO. I think she's an ambitious person but that's about it.
