The proper way to measure death, in a multitude of disasters, is by excess death. How many heart attacks 6/18 vs 6/19 vs 6/20. Strokes 6/18 vs 6/18 vs 6/20. Having covid attached is just one variable allowing us to be more accurate. Do you realize how many cases there were march -June that didn’t have that covid diagnosis officially attached due to lack of testing?

By every estimate, the amount of covid related deaths and illnesses are substantially higher than what’s reported

Canada objectively is doing a superior job to the US. Canada objectively is also better prepared from a social standpoint to deal with this type of issue and a hospitalization there doesn’t deal fiscal critical hits. The trade off, specific to our 2 countries, is quality, and certainly there is a balance to be found. I would argue both can be achieved here in the US.
