This reminds me so much of a, sort of idiom we use in competitive fighting games.

"If it was stupid but it worked, it wasn't stupid"

What I mean with that is, Trump can literally just do things in debates like say plain and simple "wrong" and that just sounds stupid, yet obviously it worked. So the pattern now becomes a meme that Trump supports use.

And if you think about it, just saying "wrong" leaves nothing open for discussion, it just ends the topic. Politics have been doing it (pun not intended) wrong for thousands of years. Instead of arguing a point and trying to spin things....just say "wrong"

What the hell were the rest of us thinking

Sir, President-elect Trump is a number of things but one of these is not stupid. Same goes for the supporters like myself who saw his victory coming nearly 20 months ago.

One can only deal with the hand one is dealt. Trump got dealt a hand with 16 Republican primary candidates, most of them RINOs, and all of them unsuited to win a race for the presidency. He then had to deal with a fully-biased media and a perennial loser in Hillary (C)linton and navigated those waters with extreme success

Can you imagine a spineless coward like jeb! or kasich dealing with the (c)linton propoganda machine or the slanted media? hahaha they would pull a mccain and start groveling apologizing for daring to run against a woman whom it was her ->! turn. much like mccain in 2008 apologizing for Obama's parents giving him the middle name Hussein.

Pres-elect Trump is no such sissy. The liberal democrats and media will brand EVERY republican candidate as a racist sexist bigot rich piece of shit, even if it were Fidel Castro himself (which he actually is and may he rot in hell forever). They made mild-mannered Mitt Romney out to be an evil scumlord. When they brought up his car elevator instead of apologizing for it he should have said "youre damn right i have one and in fact im going to build a bigger one next year in between the hours I spend making America great again as President."

The losers argue the technicals and the winners worry about how to keep winning.

I said it back with Romney and with McCain

demonizing both was a mistake, completely paved a path for a guy like Trump

Both sides play that shit. The left acts like Romney was some sort of white devil and the right said some of the craziest shit ever about Obama.

lots of things came together for Trump it wasn't just this or just that but the above contributed for sure

yes my furry friend, both sides do this. In this election while Trump spent his time going to listen to and speak with the American people, while putting out his policies, and some anti-(C)linton rhetoric in-between, the other side quadruple-downed on this attack mode tactic. Only instead of sticking to just President-elect Trump, they went after his supporters and then after anyone who was considering not voting for (C)linton, meanwhile ignoring those voters who helped the (D)s win many elections the last 30-odd years. Yes a bunch of people who voted for Pres Obama twice suddenly became racist bigots and refused to vote for the out of touch rich white woman and instead voted for the orange man. Dont make me laugh

Couple that with her innate ability to reject the winning forumla offered to her by President Barack Hussein Obama (who shovel smashed her in '08 i might add) and we get this glorious result.

I honestly believe this was less an election of support, and more of the Conservative base just hates Hillary. I don't really use the word hate very often. I dislike Trump, I EXTREMELY dislike Mike Pence, but I think that most of the conservative base just legitimately hate Hillary. I will freely admit I voted for Hillary based more on my dislike of the empty promises of Trump and the people I knew he would eventually appoint despite his "drain the swamp" rhetoric, rather than on support of Hillary.

But in all honesty the DNC MOST likely did not have a strong enough candidate to put forward in this election. Hillary would have been fine....10 years ago as the nominee now. You can only live through so much demonizing. But besides her it was Sanders, Sanders had no chance I don't think, being in the millennial bubble I'm in.

2020 who knows. Martin O'Malley 2020 for me

plenty of that too

Clinton hate is real and has been real for decades

she is the boogeywoman to so many people, not much you see all sides agreeing on but what do you see here in pard from all sides from the lefties to the righties to the mutants at the libertarian table? extreme clinton hate

I disagree with the intensity of it and plenty of the info is just flat out inaccurate or lies but there is no denying the chick is not liked

Unless you talk to Pollster, in which case she is universally adored.

If he isn't stupid, then his supporters are, because they voted for him based on the stupid character he plays which panders to stupid voters.

If he is stupid, then his supporters still are because they voted for an idiot.

Only half joking.

He's definitely brilliant and pandering and garnering rampant support from the gullible though. Genius, even.

it's almost as if emotional persuasion is more influencial than rational decision making. Near the end of the election not many people talked about politics and instead it was "hillary FBI, satanic cults, crooked" vs "trump pussy grabbing, racism, sexism". Trump since day one has been a master persuader and that's why I knew he had the best chance of winning.

Precisely. Sad that it has to be that way, though.
