Probably the greatest thing that ever happened to me was being born white.

I'd say being born into a white family but being able to trace my grandmother's side back to the Eastern Band means if this white thing doesn't work out, I can always move back west to live on a rez.

Serious question, what sort of policies would be implemented (good/bad) if she actually won?
I didn't much care for Obama but he didn't screw me over too bad. That cheap health insurance stuff came in handy when I got taken to the funny farm.

I don't think that there's anything even half so huge as Obamacare in the works, but she has some pretty great ideas for lowering student debt (lowering the interest rates to what it actually costs the government and allowing current loan-holders to refinance at the new rates, and also making public universities more affordable. She has some pretty good plans for encouraging 'too big to fail' banks to break themselves up (or pay such high taxes that they'll pay for the stimulus when they fuck up again).

It's really a lot of incremental stuff that continues what's already been happening under Obama, but that's really all that I'm interested at this point anyway, even if the alternative were a Republican I could at least vaguely respect. HRC is pretty much the best choice available. America's doing great, and it'd be awesome for it to just keep on keepin on.

Seriously?
My wife has $240,000 in medical school loans at 7.9%
We got them refinanced at 3.4% through SoFi (capitalism at it's best - I know)
You expect them to be lower than that?
People complaining about $50k debt LOL....
Over a 20 year term that is $<270 per month. Which anywhere will refinance that for 20 years.
Stop complaining about debt and go get a fucking job.

Obamacare?? WHAT A DISASTER!

Whoa, things have been hard during a recession? Well, a bunch of charts that end at 2014 definitely prove the sky is falling then, you got me there bro. :(

Obamacare has been pretty great and gotten a whole lot of people insured that otherwise were falling through the cracks and costing the country a whole lot of money by showing up at emergency rooms and then being unable to pay their bills. It's far from perfect, but it's still pretty great.

And yes, I expect the government to not make a profit on student loans. I know, it's a wacky, wacky idea, but it seems like something that's for the public benefit should be run for the public benefit rather than for a tidy profit. It's mostly coz I'm a filthy dirty hippy. :(

I got on insurance through Obamacare this year  for about six months I was on my wife's insurance, then she decided to go back to school and my dad retired so I had to start paying for my own. The marketplace made it pretty easy too. Getting subsidized out the ass, so it looks like I won't be paying into the system this year like I did last year :(
