Always means "for all time". Making the assumption that there was no time without the universe, when the universe was "created", so was time. Therefore, the universe has existed for all time, so it has ALWAYS EXISTED.

Because we accept it as plausible, not a truth like the religious do in regards to their belief in God.

We also don't make judgements about other people and base our socio-political decisions off the plausibility of the universe having always existed.

Also, the plausibility of the universe having always existed can be shown to be incorrect whereas God is an unfalsifiable claim and shall remain such no matter how much evidence is provided.

It's a basic guise for the debate of god's existence or not (and I'm not building a strawman - that's what it is),and in any respectable metaphysical inquiry it is up the theist to try to prove that god exists against a rational basis, just as it would be up to me to try to prove that magical invisible fairies fly around us all the time against a rational basis (+1 for logic).

The Universe cannot have existed for an infinite period because that would involve it having "transversed" an infinite number of events. You can't quantify infinity.

It logically follows that the Universe was created.

I can make unsubstantiated claims too.

I'll just use an Aquinas proof and apply it to the universe to state that the universe does not and cannot fall into an infinite regression and was never caused.
