Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, has dismissed and arrested General Javier Marcano Tabata, who headed counterintelligence and the presidential honor guard.
The guy handed over all of Maduro's contacts and meeting points to the Americans and disabled the air defense system.
He is going to prison, and the Americans are just like, "Thanks, Javier-bro, asta la vista." :D

Were we really supposed to believe that the United States just magically did this on their own without any type of assistance?

Of fucking course they were fed all the info they needed.

People protesting, arguing, I am here trying to figure out if I want to invest in Chevron or Exxon. USA can move capital a hell of a lot faster that Canada can get through all the regulatory hoops to build another pipeline.

A pipeline that ends where though exactly. Venezuela? Fuck no. And a pipeline that they haven't even started building yet, haven't even started planning for yet? That's easily 15-20 years off of completion. Your stocks won't see any positive pipeline related return until at least 3 or 4 years after completion. That's not to say you won't see general up and down activity between now and then.

No, a Canadian pipeline. As a nation we have been sitting here bickering about building a new one for a while now, and that's just after the last expansion took over 6 years to build and was highly controversial. As in, if oil can be extracted and tanked cheaper from Venezuela than Canada can sell currently out of the West without an additional pipeline, we here in Canada are going to hurt and our oil companies here will suffer while others will prosper, although there's significant cross over with Exonn having a good portion of Imperial which does a lot of patch work here.

WTI is a little too low for American producers to go in there and start new projects. I think they want it around 60-70 a barrel. I know when the Saudis crashed the market in 14' a lot of US companies straight up stopped all new projects. A lot of companies went out of business.

Basically what I'm getting is the US is seizing X million barrels right now and selling them at market price then splitting the profits with Venezuela. That's probably a lie though.

Actually a Canadian pipeline would be real nice to see, but I still wonder where it would go. Probably up. That might be one of the issues theyre running into.

Currently Alberta is submitting a Northwest Coast project but I guarantee regulatory will drag it out 10 years with it having to go through BC.

Major infrastructure here has become incredibly difficult due to so many different land holders / stakeholders now, and everyone wants a piece of the pie. At some point there has to be a threshold where its deemed reasonable and fast-track it and I know Canada is touting we are going to do that with Nation Building Projects but time will tell and I have my doubts.
