What is this claim of "hijacking and changing science for political activism" rooted in? What evidence do you have for this other than your general opinion? This is why we have a licensing process so hacks don't make decisions about communities that they have, as you said, "limited experience with".

The sokal squared experiment did a pretty good illustration. Its based on the 97%+ ideological alignment in higher learning, the faculty studies showing it, the persecution and firing and suppression and even violent attacks upon professors and academics with dissenting opinions. The fact that licensing agencies and even groups like bar associations have changed their requirements to add DEI and LBGTQ guidance and advocacy.

This whole thread your schtick has been to demand people back up claims that are so blatantly obvious and common knowledge that nobody actually contests them anymore, and any political controversy is over justification and rationalization, not denial. Its not news to anyone that the APA and DSM5 are a clear example of social activists capturing and subverting an authority to push an agenda.

You can"t just tell people don't believe your lying eyes when you see an agenda warping academia and bureacracy, don't believe your lying eyes when you see authorities engaged in agenda pushing, don't believe your lying eyes when you see the results of these policies kick your pregnant sister in her stomach. There's a societal debate over progressive activists claiming their social agenda is a moral imperative and the backlash against it, but theres no debate on if it exists

It's okay Goom, I understand that your perspective is influenced by social media and personal opinion. None of us know everything, and ignorance abounds.

Lmao, come on. Did you seriously miss the countless number of professorships and scholarships for "gender science" which popped up over the past 20 decades in academia all around the world? Did you miss the countless number of stories where professors or teachers let their students fail tests for statements like "men cannot get pregnant", which are biologically correct, but go against gender ideology? Did you miss the amount of feminist and transgender gobbledegook which is being published by scientific journals these days?

Just to give you two examples:

edit: I'll post the full abstract of that "scientific" article because it perfectly captures everything that is going wrong with Western liberalism:

Quote
Glaciers, gender, and science: A feminist glaciology framework for global environmental change research

Glaciers are key icons of climate change and global environmental change. However, the relationships among gender, science, and glaciers – particularly related to epistemological questions about the production of glaciological knowledge – remain understudied. This paper thus proposes a feminist glaciology framework with four key components: 1) knowledge producers; (2) gendered science and knowledge; (3) systems of scientific domination; and (4) alternative representations of glaciers. Merging feminist postcolonial science studies and feminist political ecology, the feminist glaciology framework generates robust analysis of gender, power, and epistemologies in dynamic social-ecological systems, thereby leading to more just and equitable science and human-ice interactions.

Have you done anything in this thread other than alternate between demanding evidence of common knowledge, then dismissing anyone who disagrees with you as uninformed?
I think chat gpt blazed past you a few iterations ago

You're the one making claims, so asking you to back them up is how this goes. All you and everyone else in this thread off is "It's common sense", "I just see it, bro". It's nonsense that you would not tolerate from others in a different domain.

Do you dispute that chairs, professorships and departments for gender science have become common place in academia? Do you dispute that articles about "feminist glaciology framework" claiming to lead to "more just and equitable human-ice interactions" are gobbledegook? Do you dispute that students have been failed for statements like "men cannot get pregnant"?

Why don't you address your first argument, that it is a mental illness? I'll wait.

I don't think I've ever gone around on PARD endlessly needling people to back up basic claims that everyone already knows is true, because that would just be an arse way to annoy people in a discussion instead of actually discussing the topic.
Its funny because I was going to say that an AI prompt would get a more cogent argument, but then I remembered, AI is another field where authorities with a progressive agenda went in and hijacked their own algorithms for political activism, to suppress their AIs from posting the truth about subjects like crime statistics or gender studies or the science of intelligence heritability and racial stratification.

It's not a claim that you can backup though, and you continue to not back it up.

>It's common sense.
>I just see it with my eyeballs.

This is why people actually have to earn a degree, undergo supervision, and maintain a license to do mental health work, not simply have an opinion informed by YouTube videos.
