Eisenhower was a good president but he wasn't dedicated to either party. He was pretty much apolitical until he became president. Eisenhower was pragmatic not ideological. His political party was more a technicality when he was coming in the office if both parties were pandering to him he just picked one and became sovereign.

He could have been great if he nipped the military industrial complex on the bud. He could have been great if he pursued Justice after WW2.... and not just the victor's justice at Nuremberg.

So I was talking about true Republicans who are members of the party. Both Eisenhower and Theodore Roosevelt would be considered RINOs now.... since both of them were very Progressive. During his time Teddy Roosevelt was universally disliked by his party.
