People can reasonably hold positions on climate change without understanding how hundred year floods are calculated. They don't need to know the specifics of cap and trade legislative quibbles or every country's pledge to the paris climate deal. They don't need to know the relationship between probable maximum floods, the hurricane mitigation index, brown water and air moisture content as it pertains to maximum event models. They don't need to be familiar with how the USACE collates and averages hundreds of river flow models or the effects or retroactive vs climate-change adapted future models.

But if you can't tell the difference between adaptation and mitigation you shouldn't hold any opinions on climate policy because you're clearly woefully uninformed. Watch ten minutes of a NOVA documentary or something
Someone saying they feel strongly about climate change but don't know the difference between adaptation and mitigation is like someone say they feel strongly about peace in the middle east but don't know the difference between sunnis, shiites and jews.

A berkeley serial felon abducted and raped a teenage girl at gunpoint as she walked to school.
But the story takes a turn once we look at the circumstances leading up to this

The man had previously committed four felonies from 2010 to 2013- Unlawful sexual intercourse in 2010, felony receiving stolen property in 2010, felony second-degree burglary in 2011, felony grand theft with a firearm with a prior serious offense in 2012, and felony possession of a firearm in 2013. He was still a free man in 2013-2014 despite these four felonies and more when he went on a string of armed robberies, committing a further 7 felonies as he robbed 6 gas stations and liquor stores at gunpoint and used a stolen credit card at one. Oct. 3 robbery at Chevron, Oct. 29 robbery at the Econo, Marina Liquors on June 14, the Econo gas station July 2, Chevron on July 9 and Valero on July 19. For all six of these armed robberies by an already four-time felon, he was sentenced to 3 years in prison on a single count of second-degree robbery. And then in 2018 while out on parole he first unsuccessfully attempted to kidnap a woman at gunpoint to rape her (attempted kidnap to commit rape and the use of a firearm during a felony) and then finally committed this rape of a random teenage girl walking down the street- kidnap with intent to commit rape, rape, forced oral copulation and sexual penetration and use of a firearm

Good job Berkeley, you make California proud. I hope the full force of the law kicks in with a vengeance and sentences him to another 3 years in prison
