as weird as it sounds, war has always been a huge boost for science/economy/engineering so who knows

the thing is that germany got away really cheap after ww2 since the nato needed a strong, prosperous germany as part of their alliance against communism. thats the reason why there were only very mild reparations after ww2. they knew that subjecting germany to some form of versailles 2.0 would have caused the german population to question capitalism and the nato and flirt with the eastern bloc.

The key to winning a war is lining up allies and working with them correctly. Germany lined up a strong ally in japan. Japans key weakness was being terrified of russia. So when germeny invades russia, japan actually DOESNT HELP. Japan should have attacked the eastern border of russia. Together they would have toppled Russia. Instead, Japan starts a war with the US by stupidly bombing Pearl Harbor.

In hindsight, Germany needed to respect Japans great fear of Russia and let Japan take the lead. If Japan wanted a war with the US, then never invade Russia and both Japan and Germany should have tag teamed to take out the US instead.

Japan's plan was to take out our aircraft carriers so we couldn't retaliate for at least a year while we built up our navy again.

They didn't hit their targets which had been recently moved, so we had a huge advantage.

Terrible plan. Just tag team russia and leave the US alone.

Hindsight is 20/20

We weren't totally neutral leading up to this though and there's no guarantee we would have stayed out even if we weren't directly attacked.

The theme of world war 3 is a transfer of the title Worlds Superpower from the US to the challenger which is China.

The battles will actually take place in the United States. The united states has a split culture, a fractured identity between the left and right. The key event is the recent development that the republican base has now completely lost all faith and trust in the system which has manifested in propelling an angry outsider into the white house which has never been seen before. To understand the american experience is to know that in the 1950s, a majority of republicans trusted the system. Major political events have eroded that trust. When Nixon resigned, the a majority of republicans no longer trusted the system and this was a permanent loss of trust but it was still close to 50%. When the media turned against the Iraq invasion in 2003 and destroyed Bush43 you saw anoher huge drop in trust and it was permanent as well to around 30%. Finally in 2016, with the BLM movement, gay marriage movement, and anti gun movements all hitting the nation at the same time, trust collapsed to zero among the republican base. Its been a slow burn of 50 years but now trust is totally lost.

This republican base no longer believes the nations functions. They view Trump as their FINAL attempt to negotiate with the system and when he fails, you will see a civil war in the US.

China and Russia are allies and are fully aware of these events. China wants to take the mantle of superpower from the US and to get it, both China and Russia will fuel a dysfunctional civil war in the US to achieve it. Once it starts, both China and Russia will fully back the republican rebels for the purpose of weakening the US and taking control of the planet for themselves.

Thats ww3. A second civil war within the US fueled and backed by China and a Russia.

The justification will be the claim that liberalism is nothing more than thinly veiled racism against white people that is wielded by western elites to hold power. The true purpose to replace the US as the worlds superpower.

I expect a republican revolt backed by Russia and China will win as well. With the US divided against itself, it wont be able to fight off the chinese and russians who will probably wind up sending armies in.
