lol? just 5 years ago, in 2013, a sizeable chunk of the GOP caucus was willing to sign a comprehensive amnesty for up to 11 million illegal aliens into law.

In June 2013, the immigration bill passed the Senate with a strong majority—68–32, with 14 Republicans joining all Democrats.

there were 45 republican senators at the time, and 14 of them joined the demorats to pass this bill. so around 30% of the GOP senators at the time supported a comprehensive amnesty.
does that qualify as a sizeable chunk?

You look at the corruption at the top of the FBI, it’s a disgrace. And our Justice Department – which I try and stay away from, but at some point I won’t– our Justice Department should be looking at that kind of stuff, not the nonsense of collusion with Russia. There is no collusion with me and everyone knows it.

He really can't stop putting his foot in his mouth.

Not necessarily.

Politicians are much easier to sway to vote for things when they know it won't pass the other chamber or presidency. This could well have been one of those times. "Look at me, I'm bipartisan!" Similarly to how the House tried to repeal Obamacare like 40 times under Obama then couldn't get anything together when it mattered.

well, during that time, the tea party movement was going strong. voting for the gang of eight bill was less of a "look at me, I'm bipartisan"-move, it was more of a "look at me, I'm weak on immigration, I'm begging to get primaried".

U.S. Attorney General Sessions says Mueller probe has taken on 'life of its own'

Jenkins urged Sessions to reconsider on tapping a second special counsel, noting his constituents are losing patience.

“We are frustrated we have had a special counsel... investigating collusion over a year without a scintilla of evidence,” he said.

Sessions responded that he understands why some Americans - and Trump - may be frustrated.

“I think the American people are concerned and the president is concerned,” Sessions said.

“He is dealing with France and North Korea and Syria and taxes and regulations and border and crime every day.”

“This thing, he continued, “needs to conclude.”

Yeah, no evidence. Theyve only had his son in law in an illegal meeting, his campaign manager brought up on collusion charges, and half a dozen related resignations.

But no, no, the probe hasnt revealed anything.

I'm seriously so sick of hearing about Trump already; he's a fringe candidate who stands no chance at getting the nomination. He's this year's Ron Paul (gets tons of attention on the internet but loses by a landslide).

got it.
Thanks.
