Justified?

Why are these cops continuing to just shoot people when they flee?

Why do you keep posting these videos? Do you hate cops or something?

poor training. officer should be prosecuted.

it's been 33 years since this judgement by the SCOTUS. Maybe if cops want to be able to catch people they shouldn't be fat fucks in pants that barely fit because they're stretched so tight.

I just like to read other people's opinions about the shooting, that's all there is to it really

Yeah, that instantly came into my mind when I saw the video

Then, this part stuck out: "unless the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others."

In the video, you can hear the officer saying he thought he was pulling out a weapon or whatever. But it did look like a knife was next to him at the end there (in the top right). However, the guy was running away and not attacking anyone. It's so weird how the law kinda protects the LEO based on "their own perception" of the incident. Doesn't seem right to me

"through the eyes of the officer" perspective has been long established to protect officers from prosecution, it's the protection afforded them in their position because they are in a dangerous profession. The issue we have in american policing is that this protection is often extended to them as job protection, a purpose it was never intended for. Officers should be let go when they show bad judgement, even sometimes in hindsight bereft of their perspective in real time, even if prosecution isn't warranted. sometimes your bad perspective, which was justifiable in real time, is a reason to be fired. Instead the unions of guaranteed this protection for officers in most cases, and suggest useless time off and retraining that wont address the root cause. The left can blame their backing of public unions for this, an entity that never should have been allowed to take hold in america.

bachelor's in CJ was my undergrad

generally when i criticize police officers its only a few minutes until someone like Ampoo comes along to tell me I don't know anything about law enforcement. God i love it when that happens.

20% of the police force would have to go if you could lose your job as a police officer if you couldn't pass satisfactory fitness tests. People are just fat as fuck nowadays.

Special Ops in military branches are having trouble finding qualified people because of how fat/non athletic people are becoming.

Kellogg/Kraft/General-Mills and fast food has in a way destroyed Americans.

good riddance! strange that construction workers aren't having a shortage of people who can do hard manual labor. in reality the physical requirements in police work are out of whack, once you're in that's it. no more requirements. If i was a police chief i would have more time spent on the job, but off the beat. Brazilian jujitsu, or krav maga, or some other well rounded martial art would be mandatory for all officers. as well as stringent physical requirements. when the cry babys come a crawling i'll remind them of all the cracked out mentally ill homeless people that get shot with knives in hand because officers decided 10 on 1 was still too dangerous to attempt disarming them.

I too listened to the Tim Kennedy episode of JRE, i was right there with him the whole show until he suggested there are hundreds of thousands of germans in south america. he even stated that maybe a few thousand immigrated there, then in 2 generations he claims they grew 10 fold...
