Is this a serious post about philosophy or just taking the piss about the fact I like better sports than you?

Foucault actually works a lot withing the social sciences. His scholarship has been criticised a lot, but he's still a great writer..
Much of Foucault's etc. philosophy could be read in comparison with Analytic Anti-foundationalism
Marx's work predates the analytic-continental distinction. The Capital is actually filled with his examples of empirical evidence, which partially makes it for such a heavy read.

I've read some if Marx and I just don't see it. I have the same criticism as Popper.

Open society and its enemies is 100% shit tho. It's a shitty reading of Hegel and Marx and just shit all-around.

Isn't that a terrible view of the philosophy of science?

I'm not sure. I'm not suggesting anything strict, I just tend to be skeptical of confused about the purpose of philosophy that makes claims about ontologically made up stuff (e.g. not physical), or makes claims without arguments and/or evidence, or makes claims that contradict mainstream scientific knowledge. This stuff happens all the time.

I'm not arguing with you I'm genuinely interested in what I'm missing.

In Poppers defense he had a lot on the line. He was an Austrian Jew living during the rise of the Aryan Science that hypothesized the final solution to the Jewish Problem. Scientific racism was the imminent feature of the orthodox science of his time, and falsification was something that he thought could keep the Jews alive as strange as that sounds.

I'm not sure what claims are made without argumentation or evidence. There is a lot of use of language to describe things, and some of the things are made up. When Sartre coined the word 'facticity' he meant it as all the concrete situations in an individual's life, or the facts about that individual that can't be thought out of or willed away. People were like "you made up that work, you can't do that" but people used it and knew what he was talking about. We can use intuition for somethings, like assuming information gained from our senses is useful to make knowledge from.

Philosophy tends to push mainstream science, which is how radical science comes about :)

I don't think anybody is really using metaphysics on scientific questions.
