Its really notable how much of Comeys memos back in early 2017 were recounting how strongly he vouched for McCabe, who we know was lying. Now that's not necessarily McCabe's fault, maybe his responsibility, since the story goes that McCabe was lying to Comey. But it also says something about Comey's judgment of character. Trump kept asking Comey if McCabe would be fine after Trump had railed on him so hard during the campaign and Comey kept assuring Trump that McCabe was a professional and would get over it, but the truth was that McCabe had already been leaking before the election and its still unknown who was responsible for all the myriad high level leaks contemporary with Comey's notes, likely McCabe but also possibly Comey. It really flies in the face of Comey's repeated dismissals of leaks usually happening at one or two hops out from the source when it turns out McCabe was a direct leaker
