Trump was always an insider.
Here is his mentor.

That's why I said "/insider", I meant from public understanding he was "the outsider" "not a politician"

ya know those flair words that people were throwing around in 2016.
That's all.

It's weird how the pale, bald guys in their cellars always know the "real" truth behind anything that's happening.

Agreed democrats are the devil.
But voting and expecting things to get better is a large part of why things are so bad and will continue to get worse.
Go read what the founding fathers said to do in times like these.
Hint: it wasn't vote more.

It goes to show that Trump mostly picked and confirmed established bureaucrats,

Its a problem that will afflict any outsider candidate. The talent pipeline exists within the structure of the present system.

Another example is Mark Milley. Still have no idea what the fuck Trump was thinking when he nominated this guy...

and by "vital questions" you ofc mean lazy whataboutisms, transparent attempts to deflect from the most incompetent and corrupt administration in history, trying to draw a false equivalence between baseless conspiracies and obvious crimes, to make the latter seem less severe or even acceptable...

you should read up on Tammany Hall if you haven't, its a fun footnote in american history back when New York could almost unilaterally decide any presidential election, and Tammany decided who won New York.

Pursuing his fruitless legal challenges and vain constitution gimmicks. No different than the Democrats who tried to hold up Trump's ratification 4 years earlier. The system is resilient enough to shrug off baseless challenges. If Pence had joined in the effort and refused to certify the vote like Trump wanted, what would have happened? It would be challenged in court, and within 24 hours the Supreme Court would have ruled that Pence holds only a formality not a constitutional power and nothing would have changed. Same for presenting a contesting slate of electors or begging investigators to find some non-existent evidence of fraud he could latch onto.

I'd also like to think that even stretched as it is now, our nation is resilient enough that a civilian president simply lacks the capacity to cling to power, that any attempt to force the issue by action and declare martial law or roll in tanks or crown himself king would be scoffed at and fail. We don't need Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell carrying daggers under their toga to intercept Trump as he walks to the theater.

it's not a big deal because it would have failed is terrible logic.

if a 4'10" manlet goes around punching 6'10" giant MMA fighters that's still an issue.

Side note: from a democracy point of view, the era in the 1880s was a nightmare, with the largest state in the nation also being the most tightly balanced and unilaterally deciding election after election.
Imagine in the current environment if California or Texas were THE pivotal swing state - their TV would consist of nothing but political ads for 5 months straight, lol.
