if we ban the purchase of ar 15s by 18 year olds we could literally save some number of kids, be it 1 or 100. but an already existing handgun ban on under 21s may cause the rape of a single unicorn girl who police refuse to stop from being raped by her father and we've now wasted 10 or so posts detailing just why we need to do what? overturn the handgun law?

a lot of gun laws proposed are dumb, 5 shot magazines, ammo purchase limits, bump stock bans, etc. ar 15s for 21+ or more specifically ANY semi automatic rifle for 21+ along with hand guns isn't. its about as minor of an inconvenience as we have seen proposed in decades.

An already existing handgun ban isn't stopping the spate of mass shootings using them, now is it? Is she possessed of rights or is she not?

she has the right to self defense, she does not have the right to choose any and all methods to exercise that right. she could use a knife, mace, taser, shotgun, karate, police, hire a body guard, or even a swift kick to the gonads.

as to mass shootings i believe i differentiated that in the context of school shootings post ago when u spiraled into this tangent.

Americans must just live paranoid.

Life would have to take some pretty fucked up turns to think I need to have carry or own even own a gun for self-defence.

We don't even lock the door of the house or the vehicle.

If discussion on here is a representation of the average populace no wonder you think you all need guns. Im beginning to think any little squabble between you guys is going to result in someone drawing a weapon.

You know what they say,.. Locked doors keep honest people honest. lol I don't believe this but some people do.

There are people in life who are simply not honest regardless of locks or measures.

These people will break the law no matter what they're told or is done in society.

Hmm haven't seen that one before. Usually is said locks are for honest people. Same meaning though, if someone really wants something they will find a way.

Perhaps lucky enough for us our per capita crime is lower.

It's because the war on marijuana left us with opiate addicts and trailer house bathtub drug addicts that can't handle withdrawl because we chose criminal addicts over helping them as a country.

While simultaneously using lower income people as slave labor instead of trying out best to give EVERYONE an education and options.

Country sucks man.

I think crime across the board is lower.

Of course the 'pandemic' didn't help that number, combined with unemployment.

But statistically in 2022 there is less crime than in the past.
