10 or so of the 642 things were ranging from odd to inappropriate to perverse.
the teacher themself didn't vet the book well enough, although it isnt said if this was one of many books on the curriculum or if it was the only writing prompt book the teacher included.
the "kids" you're talking about are 18 years old, not children. This is an AP course. as an "american" im sure u know what an AP course is, even if you never came close to being offered one in school.
the teacher should remove the book from the list, replace it with a more appropriate title, and perhaps issue an apology or even take a short suspension. and a year from now when those "kids" enter college they'll have books just like the "642" book in their college courses, because college courses often include a lot of adult subject matter, because 18+ year old people are adults.
