I don't believe the left side of the spectrum is capable of becoming an insane, dangerous personality cult, like the right has with Donald Trump. There's just a fundamental difference between people like Hannity, Tucker, Rush, Trump, Cruz, and equivalent figures on the left-of-center. The right-wing, spurred by propagandists like Rush and Hannity, have for decades moved further away from reality and seriousness. The level of conspiracism, mean-spiritedness, and laughable arguments just can't be compared to those mainstream figures on the left-of-center.

One, if it were true, you are putting far too much faith in the durability of human institutions, faith which, using history, we clearly don't deserve. Two, it is not, as at least figures like Tucker are presented as opinion. It is the newsrooms and fact-checks at NYT and WaPo that are the problem.

Leftwing stations won't say a damn word about Biden if it is even slightly negative. Won't touch it. At least in the past I have heard people like Carlson question Trump etc, people like hannity are just fucking obvious puppets. I feel like I get a lot of different viewpoints from conservative media like Shapiro, Crowder, Knowles etc, but leftwing media straight up just ignoring important problems tells me all I need to know.
