Yeah. I don't know why they even bother. Just admit you have no principles, you control the levers of power, and thus Trump gets to appoint someone.

Democrats would be wise to embrace this argument as well if they manage to get in power. Get rid of the filibuster, stack the court. Do whatever you can with the power you have, while you have it. Abiding by principles and norms while the other side doesn't makes no sense.

Most Americans aren’t conservatives or Republicans. It’s disturbing to see the vast power this minority wields over the majority of Americans, as well as internationally as an extension of the military power of our State. America is a nation of good people controlled by the most corrupt, vile, and evil entities to have ever existed on planet earth. It’s sad beyond measure.

What are you talking about? Conservative justices are schizophrenic half the time. They don't care what the words on the paper mean as much as their interpretation of what some dudes centuries ago probably meant. Scalia was probably most guilty of this.

When liberal justices are creating arbitrary rights (or deleting rights) on a whim based on their most recent communion with the national unconscious, we can forgive Scalia for only being consistent 95% of the time. There are a handful of cases where I think Scalia pushed the envelope, but he was also the brightest legal mind with the strongest philosophical foundation for decades.

Republican justices are radicalized activist judges. They claim to be constitutionalists and originalists while wiping their ass with the law.
