To me the worst part is the incredulity. and it doesnt matter whether it's legit or feigned.
in 2015 people could act surprised that republican voters were willing to flat out ignore Trump's glaring personal and social issues. his insults. his # of marriages. his infidelity. even his dog whistling to the KKK.
in 2020 people talking with the "how can you people ignore this" incredulous tone are either fucking stupid or disingenuous themselves.
if we have an entire election cycle of "this is your nominee people, will you vote for a man who once said ______, or cheated on X wives, or was impeached?" type debates its going to be nauseating. and also playing into Trump's hands.
I'm having a hard time seeing any angle that doesn't benefit Trump's reelection. Dems are playing into his hand, playing his game.
All Trump has to do, IMO OFC, to win in 2020 is the following:
1) Stay as quiet and "private" as possible - don't spout off on social media. Stay relatively tame (the hardest thing for him to do)
2) Campaign on the economy and direction of the country - real basic, milk toast bland stuff.
3) Let the dems tear each other apart until the one candidate emerges. They're all extremely flawed in one way or another - it'll be easy for Trump to win debates against any of them IMO.
4) Make a plea to the middle of the isle that Dem's have gone off the deep end with radical views on healthcare, social programs, taxes, ETC.
5) Suppress any new scandals that pop up, if any. I'm sure they'll be some ha.
