Christendom's "crimes" against humanity (the burning of heretics at the stake etc) are greatly exaggerated. And much of the wars, the crusades and so forth, had underlying political motives many times which were oftttimes the real reason for war.

This is a wrong statement, religion can be linked to many things
- Bush "war" aka massacre in Iraq can be linked with the fact he was a born again christian and the push of its community. "in the name of God", sad.
