The perpetually outraged right-wing is a minority of the country... but I'm glad the Republican party tries to appeal to that group because it provides a nice contrast with the normie Harris/Walz ticket.

After years of endlessly crying about orange man rapist, sexist, misogynistic, Russian agent, ultimate threat to democracy, felon, and on an on you think the other side is perpetually outraged? Lol. Look in the mirror my friend.

America is tired, has been for awhile of wokeism, unaccountability, media narrative steering, same old same old. That's why these forces are giving up so much ground now, not only in the US but globally, across the western world. People look at that garbage of a display in the Olympics and it's more of a collective fuck off with trying to normalize this deviancy by having it in your face everywhere and anywhere.

You are outraged by those things so you think America is also outraged. But I think a lot of voters aren't looking to be outraged... they'd like a political environment that's not as weird and angry. And you know which ticket brings the normie/good vibes?

It's not about outrage, it's about people rejecting institutions that have squandered public trust. That's why in 2024 CNN has the lowest ratings since 1991 in the age group of 25-54, literally less than 100k in prime time, while an interview on Twitter with Trump currently is garnering 1.2 million live viewers, and on the aggregate tens if not hundreds of million people will re-listen it.

This sums up the contrast in this election really well: those looking for superficial "good vibes", no matter if there is any substance behind them, and those looking for a country which works again, a country with affordable food and housing, a country with good jobs and safe streets.

Woke liberalism is losing ground across the Western world right now because the past few years have exposed their policies for the failure that they are. Real incomes have declined in spite of unprecedented, debt-fueled government spending, energy and gas prices have gone through the roof, the Green Agenda has only made things more unaffordable, open borders are a burden rather than a boon, restorative justice and decriminalization policies have made the streets less, rather than more safe, the "peace through weakness"-approach to foreign policy has made the world a more dangerous and war-torn place, etc. pp.

I think the superficial vibes and policy vibes both matter.

But we shouldn't underestimate the share of voters who were "double-haters" when it was Trump vs Biden, and thus will choose Harris, and not necessarily because of policy.
