The CIA uses those kinds of covert operations all over the globe to open markets, particularly in any place that threatens to go left in their economic system.

I don't accept what the government says blindly. You just think that's the only explanation. Your world is black and white, either somebody agrees with you on everything, or they're a sheep who blindly follows the government, and there's no middle ground.

"One that would get you cancelled" is broad enough that it's pretty much meaningless.

Here's a fun one. far-right groups, like KKK chapters, have been in an active campaign for at least 50 years to infiltrate police departments, local agencies, and state/federal agencies, with the explicit purpose of implementing white supremacist policy that has reasonable-deniability and keeping such policies main stream. This isn't a "one bad apple spoils the bunch" type situation, it's a "We actively inserted bad apples to normalize racial violence" type situation.
