I had two very inaccurate ideas in 2016. The first was that Trump had no chance of winning. The second was that Trump, once getting inaugurated and realizing the weight of the office, would step up to the job and knock off most of the nonsense.

I don't think he's choosing to be a divisive moron, it's just his nature.

If you were hoping Trump would stop being Trump, you were even more wrong than myself, and I thought he was a smokescreen.
There was far more cause to be hopeful about where he'd land ideologically than whether he'd do an about-face on personality
