You can dry fire any fire arm the safety isnt on, on.
Once you "Rack" a round into the chamber you are now live in this case for 30 rounds.


So attaching the magazine doesn't magically pop a live round into the chamber.
You yourself have to use the mechanism on the gun to load the round to be fired.

if you have an unloaded ar 15, pop in a 30 round magazine, do not rack a round, but then pull the trigger to dry fire, does the 1st round from the magazine enter the chamber?

i have too many guns, but ar's, ak's, etc arent among them. just not my thing. i dont even have many semi autos among the large number of guns i have. i use a bolt .410 to shoot skeet so i can shame grown men when i pick up doubles.

OK that would make the prosecutions line of questioning make at least a bit of sense. not that having a loaded ready to fire weapon is a crime. and any gun owner knows a gun is ALWAYS loaded in your mind and how you handle it.

really the prosecutor seems to be trying to push narratives that anti gun ignorant of guns jurors may cling to to force a hung jury. idk.
