I'll give you similar if you want to examine them philosophically, but by definition they are not the same thing.

Dogma is dogma. Faith is Faith. I would be surprised if Harris did a church of reason thing. Definitely not Dawkins.

I know a lot of you guys think science is great. It's reputation is not unearned but it takes effort to maintain.
Just saying, half of scientists are dumber than the other half, and many of them do work in peer review.
Those "self-correcting mechanisms" can be thwarted easily due to human error or the right people being paid off.
Like all things in practice, it's not foolproof.

Yep, but in the end it is self correcting. There's lots of recognition to be had in overturning accepted theories. The higher regard the theory is held the more recognition there is to be had in overturning it.

Who cares about science? You can reject the 'god' explanation without needing any science. Just a basic grasp of logic and reason will do. Shot, for the Christian God you need nothing more than a brain and a copy of the bible.

sounds like a term coined by angry liberal arts majors
