gotta love how the intellectually challenged act like the tears of people who have lost their children were the "argument", and not the almost daily atrocities that lead to such tears...

but hey, an amendment from a time that faced vastly different dangers, challenges, social problems, and technical equipment is certainly more important than common sense, the opinion of an overwhelming majority of the population, and a couple of thousand dead children...

i mean it's not like the constitution isn't perfect and has ever seen significant changes *cough* voting rights, slavery, prohibition... *cough*

It is the argument. The argument is: 'Children have died as a result of guns, therefore we need more gun control and if you don't support it you're an unsympathetic monster. If you don't support this specific piece of legislation, you're an NRA stooge.'

You'll have to be specific in what gun control legislation commands support with an overwhelming majority of the population as the only ones I can think of are universal background checks and the ban of automatic weapons, both of which wouldn't have prevented this shooting or any others. Implemented universal background checks in states like California have failed insofar and only around 6% of shootings are carried out with automatic weapons.

The bottom line is that only a blanket gun ban will solve America's gun problem, and that will never happen considering the country's history and gun culture. So if that's what you support then be honest and open about it.

guns save more than that kill, it is morally wrong to ban them
