So Mitch forced a cloture vote, knowing that it would fail, to put pressure on the Democrats. Not one Democrat voted for it, and it wasn't exactly a razor thin margin.
But sure, Democrats are supposed to just sign whatever Mitch and Mcnuchin put in front of them, because time is of the essence, even though Trump's delayed response is part of the reason we're in this mess.
It'll work itself out. If the Democrats have to, they'll make serious concessions, because they're the governing party.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/shock-dem-stock-coronavirus-package-with-green-new-deal-handouts-post-office-bailout-union-cashNancy Pelosi just revealed some of the text of her house bill.
Here are some of the wonderful provisions of her "cononavirus relief package" that was totally not designed to be a poison pill that's completely unpassable and serve no purpose but partisan obstructionism:
- Strengthens bargaining powers for unions
- Increases fuel emissions standards
- Expansion of solar and wind tax credits
- Bails out the US post office
- Bails out student loans
- Conducts "risk-limiting audits of results of elections"
- Mandates national same-day voter registration
- Mandates 15 days early voting and mail-out ballots to all Americans
- Mandates pay equity that says gender, racial and ethnic minorities must receive the same pay at companies regardless of whether they perform the same work
- Mandates that corporate boards must have forced diversity quotas for gender, race and ethnic identities on both the board and leadership and subcommittees
- Expands child care and earned income tax credits that won't apply for a year
I've only had time to glance at the surface of the bill, it just came out. The compromise that senate republicans and democrats had struck was a bill narrowly crafted to apply to the immediate crisis at hand, a stimulus package of immediate relief
now for Americans, small businesses, governments, the CDC and failing corporations. Pelosi's counterproposal isn't just an ideological wishlist, its a list of completely fucking unrelated bullshit that doesn't have any impact until 6-12 months from now. I'm pretty sure she unironically tucked anti-Hyde Amendment language in there somewhere just for spite.
You told us that Democrats are the only party left that governs and that they wouldn't hold up government function.
