Atheism is wrong because it is not Christianity. Why don't you just stick to that? No need to think critically about this.

My guess is you read the first couple paragraphs and decided to link it. Clearly you don't have thoughts on what Sam Harris said.

I see no legit criticisms of atheism. Just Sam Harris dragging his same, tired old point that we shouldn't call ourselves atheists because nobodty calls themselves aunicornists into a 20 paragraph monument to his own smug self-satisfaction.

His point is essentially that atheists shouldn't group together like another religion because atheism is not and never will be the same or even opposite of being religious.

He is making the argument that we should always strive to cast aside and criticize bad ideas and religion but be careful not to become our own 'religion.'

And I agree with him. I suppose this is a strong appeal to be a part of their own "tribe" or group. But groupthink can all cause the irrationality and counter-productive ideals you see with many religious groups.

Any belief can be effectively criticized. Or non belief. You're gonna believe something, everyone does, and the basis of any belief withers under enough criticism.

You just gotta pick a side through passion and partisanship like you and I and Sam and any other person who thinks their correct about somethings.

No animals are purely rational. I guess some people are, but they tend not to do well in human society and earn titles like sociopath (lol).

And how does this matter to anything at all?

People believe what they feel is right. They then see other people with similar mindsets and create labels that group those people.

It's not new, it's not bad and you're not shocking anyone by pointing out that we do it.

Sam Also practices opposite of what he preaches through Scientism. His work reeks of it. Same Damn thing.
