I hope she never leaves the senate

Shes the GOP's MVP

It's unbelievable how bad she is. I hope she lives and stays minority leader until she's 120 yrs. old.

So let me get this straight, the Russian backed Assad forces launched a 500 man assault on a well established position of the YPG and US advisers on the ground in harms way, and then instead of letting the syrian army overrun our position, we blasted the fuck out of them with airstrikes until they backed off. Well, I hope they got the message. I'm curious what degree of autonomy the troops have from assad and both assad and the troops had from russia in getting themselves blown up. If the Russians actually organized it, that's a lot different geopolitically.

so let me get the actual facts straight
america operates on foreign territory without a declaration of war, against all international laws and the laws of war, sponsoring war crime committing "rebels" (a mixture of islamists and deserters that have murdered, raped and plundered for years now) and attacks lawful combatants of the syrian army and their allies on their own territory
if thats not a war crime then what is

so while the move is understandable you forget the actual problem here
the united states have no business in syria and their war crimes have to end, the murderous regime change madness has to end

its amazing how the facts and causes are twisted to somehow justify the warmongering in syria

You think the YPG are a mix of islamists and deserters that have murdered, raped and plundered?
I think you got your talking points crossed, you're supposed to call them communist terrorists and/or infidels and praise erdogan / the ayatollah / assad.

The US has a business in syria because Obama foolishly made it our business to get involved in syria. Once we're in, we have obligations. And though the humanitarian disaster would never have unfolded if not for Obama's original support for the islamists / al-nusra / isis and withdrawal from an unsecured iraq, if such a war had somehow erupted on its own, it would be the responsibility of team america: world police to intervene, because at some point it does become a moral imperative as stewards of the world, just one that has to be pragmatically calculated, done neither rashly nor with too much reticence. And where Syria has been after years of Obama keeping the wound festering, it has plainly reached far beyond the point where intervention would have become reasonable.

As far as international law and codes, lmao, nobody gives a shit

all the sources i read about this incident talk about the SDF, which is a diverse group of all sorts of people (including kurds)
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/13/us-backed-kurdish-forces-committing-war-crimes-against-syrian-civilians
and this is just one example of kurdish fighters committing crimes in syria, they are certainly not the good guys here despite playing the victim card every time they have the chance

unfortunately not or this whole mess could have been avoided

The SDF is the YPG. They're the same faction, just like Assad and Putin, or the various splintered sunni islamist rebels other than ISIS.
What is anyone supposed to be surprised the kurds aren't saints? Every faction in the syrian war has blood on their hands and war crimes under their belt.
Obama was wise to arm the kurds as our proxy army with their knowledge we would let them return to being friendless mountaindwellers and they would expect nothing more. Because at least the kurds won't turn into taliban-esque boogeymen down the line and we can wipe our hands clean of them, and they are by all accounts some of the least reprehensible and most progressive goat fuckers of the bunch, and notably tenacious fighters to boot. If the secular communists in Iraq had been a sizeable enough force to end the war, we wouldn't have wound up with this problem in the first place. ISIS only exists because we armed the sunni islamists then let them loose on a rampage of liberating prisons, conscripting sunnis, massacring the rest and charging into syria to establish their caliphate with their newly stolen yazidi sex slave brides (at which point we kept arming them by proxy anyway, in Obama's blunder). Between Assads barrel bombs, rebels filming themselves beheading children, ISIS burning people to death in cages and erdogan's reichstag fire, I really can't begrudge the kurds displacing villagers.

Im wondering how long until some POTUS gets the bright idea to resettle the entire Kurdish population like we did with the Hmong post-Vietnam. Hmong were kicked from one area to the next and brutalized at every step, then made a secret deal with the CIA, that we didnt uphold for a few decades. The kurds have been a punching bag forever, now that they've sided with US Imperialist dogs a few times they're dead meat. Or at least destined for constant attack. Maybe once all the snow bird baby boomers die off they can have Arizona.

CNN and Yahoo and a few other outposts are turning more into hot garbage weekly. post 2016 CNN took more heat than they deserved, and now its like they're trying to live up to their reputation the right gave them... the source bullshit is really getting old, and i think people are catching on. especially when u look at a situation like how info was filtered and laundered in the Steele Dossier to falsify a corroboration. And yet Trump is bringing them a massive windfall, as he is doing to all networks. If CNN and the NYT were failing in 2015 Trump is their life blood.
