Obviously you don't come out and give the exact specifics of how we're strengthening voter machines or whatever, but by all accounts combating this interference just isn't top of mind for Trump at all.

I don't see how the optics are that bad for Trump. The election was so close that had Russia not interfered, it may have gone to Hillary, but that's something historians will write about. It's just not relevant right now. How about Trump puts the good of the country ahead of his own fragile ego?
