Do you even know which things you say sincerely and which sarcastically anymore? Legit question, noromo
I've noticed a lot of Republicans or Conservatives realize the bullshit of their party recently, though they will probably never fully admit it.
The bullshit has always been there, but the rise of Donald Trump just made it easier for them and everyone to see.
Unfortunately, I don't think this election will change much of anything for their party. I think Donald Trump will lose, and the GOP will keep pulling the same shenanigans. The Trump movement will likely just go away and die once he has no active role in government or GOP politics.
And honestly, party identification just comes down to a person's religion a lot of times. A lot of people start with their religion and then justify the rest of the party platform around that foundation. Conservative fiscal policies just seem to make more sense to Christians for some reason. Curious, curious...could it be because they are drawn toward their social policies that relate to their religion?

White Christians (Protestants and Catholics) that have identified as Conservatives for most of their life have a tough time ever becoming a Democrat. The same could be said for Liberals, of course. The country is quite polarized. But I've seen a lot of Christian Conservatives like TC do what they are doing right now. They won't admit the failures of the modern GOP party politics, more or less support HRC, and criticize Trump. They have started to come around more on some Democratic ideologies, or at least are able to tolerate the thought of some now without saying that they are completely stupid. IceMage is in the same boat.
Unfortunately, when Republicans' future presidential candidate or politician isn't as apparently as bad as Donald Trump and the party doesn't appear as outwardly dysfunctional, a lot of them will go back to the same old stuff (2001-Present). But it's nice to see some Republicans don't blindly support Trump. It's a start, but I don't think it's going to get us anywhere by the time 2020 rolls around. Unless the Republicans voters nominates another idiot and advocates for more stupid shit.
