The only thing I posted in this thread prior to this encounter is informative info from some key tweets. I had no interest in playing the partisan blame game. If he wants to focus and somehow shift this into partisan blaming, he should expect push back when it's obvious that the authorities are really the ones that haven't been doing enough.

Having read a few things about this accident now. It was mostly caused by a damaged axle that overheated and malfunctioning sensors that failed to pick up that over-heating. So while this is a environmental disaster it's mostly due to negligence on the side of the company.

I might buy that if you hadn't gone out of your way to attack Biden for doing the exact opposite of what he actually did.

Looks like you were interested in attacking Democrats, and now that you've been called out for telling a blatant lie you're trying to claw back some credibility by pretending to not be partisan.

You can go read my posts of what I shared, instead of defaulting to your typical interaction of ankle biting. I literally posted what the article said, which is not the 'exact opposite' of what Biden actually did.

This DeWine said that without "controlled fire" It could have been a catastrophic blow-up, and he got advices from experts.

But something is wrong in the timeline: they decided to OPEN the cars full of Vinyl chloride 3 days after the derailment...

Feb. 3: Train derailment
Feb. 6: Controlled release of the rail cars' chemicals
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/timeline-east-palestine-ohio-train-derailment-chemicals-evacuations/

Why not fire fighting plane in the first hours ?
There was also some resident woman complaining that nobody came on site during the first 2 hours (lost source on youtube)

The only "partisan" thing I mentioned was that I was glad to see the right start to take environmental protection seriously, which you told me to not get my hopes up about. The modern right wing has been decidedly anti-conservationist when it comes to the environment, so if this is what finally gets them moving down the correct path, then I support that. Although I tend to agree with you that I should not get my hopes up.

I do also agree that actual blame for the accident falls squarely on Norfolk Southern.

who would have thought that bending over for corporations to end a strike by the unions who said this was dangerous and would cause serious issues would be a bad idea?

the only strikes that have any sort of pro-worker impact once the deal is struck have serious economic impact. the rails should have been shut down until the rail companies opened up their checkbook and re-instituted the worker and rail safety protocols that Trump undid. and instead of backing that leftists from AOC to Biden bent the fuck over. period. same for the right wingers, all just smiled and signed on the dotted line for their railway company donors.

which railway company donates to AOC again? i mean, you're not wrong about dems being their usual, shitty "only slightly better than republicans will do" selves on the issue, but the motives were clearly not the same for everyone. the likes of AOC and bowman tried to leverage their vote by forcing an amendment regarding paid sick leave days (which ultimately failed), the core request of the unions. imo they were still wrong in not outright opposing it (like tlaib - and bernie in the senate), but to suggest they did it for the same reason as those doing their donors' bidding is a little misleading.
