Thanks bro. I watched it previously. The smack down on the Sky reporter was so massive, that Rupert Murdoch's team in Australia decided to piss on him for weeks on National Television.

it was cringe at times but you have to love his colourful language. I really enjoyed his definition of a threat.

unfortunately, the western world very much depends on china - for both the production of cheap goods, as well as the massive, growing market it represents.

personally, i consider it to already be the most important nation in the world, and if you argue it isn't yet (which is perfectly valid, as based on gdp and military power for example it "only" ranks 2nd currently), it will inevitably become so in the very near future.

that said, it's an authoritarian shithole - very much a ccp dictatorship. intellectuals, critics, dissidents, political opposition, and protesters "disappear" by the thousands each year. it's an incredibly corrupt system without any accountability or transparency. by all reasonable definitions, china is in the process of committing a full blown genocide in xinjiang. they bully their smaller neighbours, enable dictators and rogue nations, generally don't care about human and individual rights and environmental protection, and systematically exploit (not only) third world nations.

they're basically the US on steroids, a conservative's wet dream (apart from that second "c" in the party's name) - including the unapologetic racism, lol.

everything there i would agree with, with the caveat being your comments re:

dont care about environmental protection and systematically exploit (not only) third world nations is not borne out by facts and can be refuted, if I was inclined, but which I wont, for obvious reasons.

fair enough "don't care" is too generalist of a statement. i grant you they DO have some environmental protection policies and regulations, and play a significant role in producing "climate friendly" products - but not only are their standards comparatively low, they are often undermined by corruption, resulting in ridiculously polluted rivers, air, forests, and a rapid decline of biodiversity.

let's say "don't care nearly enough about environmental protection" then?

That basically refutes the western narrative bandied about that China is about to implode due to shrinking workbase.
